ADDITIONAL O-RING TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE
If you are breaking O-rings frequently:
You may want to check your cover, it may not be centered in the cooking well, this can cause stress on one side when opening and closing.(see your manual for directions on how to center the cover, it's pretty easy to do.) Also, make sure the bumper that the cover hits when you slide it back is in good shape as this could cut the o-ring. The groove that holds the o-ring could also be worn (SHARP) in one or two spots. The pressure in your unit could be too high (operating pressure should be apx. 10 psi) and when the operator is opening the cover they could be opening it too fast. The o-ring could be dry, it should be lubricated prior to installing with vegetable oil or you can use Haynes Sanitary spray lube.
